How to Get Toned and Feel Stronger

Want to be able do everyday things with a lot less effort? Not have to worry about your back going

every time you bend down to pick something up? Or simply look great with or without your clothes on?

Well, with strength comes muscle tone…

So here are my top 3 tips to get toned and feel stronger:

Lift weights:

It seems like simple enough advice, but there are a lot of people out there who don’t feel comfortable
venturing into the weights section of the gym. I know it can be intimidating, usually because of some

vain gorilla taking selfies and grunting like they’re… okay, let’s not get into that right now!

Lifting weights is fundamental to the development of muscle tone and strength, but as I said earlier, it

can be intimidating.

Why not try starting with some of the resistance machines instead?

Push Yourself:

Now you’ve started lifting weights (or at least using the resistance machines) the next step is to find
the weight that’s appropriate for you. A rule of thumb is to aim for 8-12 reps, performing 3-4 sets of the

exercise you’re doing.

How do you know if the weight is right?

Well, simply put, if you can do more than 12 reps, the weights too light; if you can’t reach 8 reps then

the weights too heavy!

Keep a Diary:

If you are winging it each time you go to the gym, how do you know if you are making

progress?

The trick to getting more toned is to ensure you push yourself in every session you do; why not up the
weight or number of reps? Doing this will allow you to track your progress and you’ll quickly start

seeing your shape change.
